From 2014 to 2016 I was part of the team who built the Monument to the World´s First Homosexual Emancipation Movement in Tiergarten in Berlin. The monument was erected in the place where Magnus Hirschfeld, scholar and scientist, founded the ever first Institut for Sexual Studies during the Weimar Republic. Already in 1897 he was actively advocating the abolishment of the infamous Paragraph 175 that criminalized sexual intercourse between adults of the same sex.
Together with 8 other artists from China, Germany, Greece, Great Britain, Spain and Nepal and under the coordination of Wolfgang Knapp we worked on the concepts for the monument and presented our results in December 2016 in HKW Berlin where a 9 head Jury chose the winning proposal. The selected monument was finally built and inaugurated in Fall 2017 in Berlin.
